Hello, I've got a question about herbicides and fruit that I hope you may be able to help with. I made some apple jam and some mulberry jam from windfall fruit that overhangs from my neighbour's garden, but then realised that shortly before that the neighbour must have been applying herbicide because all the ivy that grows from their side to ours suddenly died. I'm now not sure whether the jams are safe to eat. Some of the branches on the apple tree have dried out just like the ivy, but the mulberry tree looks healthy. It doesn't look like the neighbours are picking or eating the fruit. I can't find out what herbicide they have used, how much and on what parts of the garden, because of language barriers. Anything you can tell me about whether herbicides are taken up by fruit trees and whether eating the fruit is risky would be much appreciated.
