{"id":1195,"date":"2009-05-06T16:49:12","date_gmt":"2009-05-06T15:49:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gardeningregisterblog.co.uk\/?p=1195"},"modified":"2019-10-20T15:07:02","modified_gmt":"2019-10-20T14:07:02","slug":"bokashi-home-composting-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gardeningregisterblog.co.uk\/index.php\/bokashi-home-composting-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Bokashi Home Composting Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have had my Bokashi Home Composting system since mid March and today I got my first supply of liquid which I will mix with water and use as a fertiliser on the garden.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I think about the system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The bokashi bran used to decompose the food smells horrible and takes a bit of getting used to<\/li>\n<li>The guide says the system doesn&#8217;t smell but on a couple of occasions when I&#8217;ve removed the lid, the smell has been awful. However, I added more bran and pushed everything down to remove any air pockets and it seems better.<\/li>\n<li>My bin isn&#8217;t full yet but it seems to be taking it&#8217;s time breaking down. The guide says it works quicker when the liquid has been drained off and when the caddy is full.
