It claims that water is only released from the globe when the soil becomes dry and therefore when the plant needs\u00a0it most.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the instructions on the box:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dip the capillary wick at the bottom of the cone in water for a few seconds until it is moist<\/li>\n<li>Fill the globe with water (add liquid plant food during the growing season)<\/li>\n<li>Screw the cone to the globe<\/li>\n<li>Create a hole in the soil using a dibber and insert the cone ensuring the wick is in contact with the soil. Water the soil to provide extra storage when going on holiday and keep out of direct sunlight<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-12715 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/gardeningregisterblog.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Image5-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Image5\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\"\/>Despite having read the instructions my\u00a0first attempts at using this product were not too good with the water running out of the cone within an hour.<\/p>\n<p>I assume I made a mistake so I tried again, this time I made sure that the capillary wick was very wet before inserting the cone into the soil and so far it seems to be doing the job well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-12716 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/gardeningregisterblog.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Image6-200x200.jpg\" alt=\"Image6\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\"\/>The Watering Globe is available to buy direct from Plantpal\u2019s website \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plantpal.co.uk\">www.plantpal.co.uk<\/a> &#8211; with prices starting at \u00a35.99 per unit or \u00a329.99 for 6 units.
